Dr Mike Gadd
Although a keen and accomplished wreck diver, Dr Mike is currently most active in the location and exploration of new cave systems in Southern Thailand including the deep exploration of Sra Keow cave, personally exploring it to a depth of 191m (CCR) in 2006 and part of the team who went on to explore it to a depth of 240m (OC) in 2007.
More recently Dr Mike and his team have been pushing Song Hong cave, so far to a distance of approximately 800m with most of that passageway being at a depth of 140m. To accomplish these deep exploration dives in remote locations Dr Mike has developed specialised techniques and equipment including a bail-out rebreather which has proven itself to work extremely well.
A keen but talentless photographer, he has an extensive and popular website showcasing the many historically significant new wreck discoveries as well as cave expeditions that he has been involved with.
Originally from the UK now residing in Singapore, Dr Mike Gadd has a PhD in High Pressure Engineering (fluids) as well as a Masters degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technologies. An Engineer, by profession and by choice, in 2001 he founded his own successful company that specialises in Waterjet Cutting Technologies supplying systems worldwide.
Combining his love of engineering and passion for diving Dr Mike has developed many pieces of dive equipment to compliment his diving including a sub sea cutting system for wreck salvage.
