Des Paroz

Des Paroz is a Sydney-based diver, underwater photographer and instructor. His passions in diving include underwater photography, wreck diving, and sharing the underwater world with others.

Diving since 1993, Des has had the opportunity to dive in various parts of Australia, the Solomon Islands, PNG, Vanuatu, Thailand and the US. He is most at home in the temperate waters of Sydney and the Illawarra, but enjoys the chance to get away to warm water destinations with his wife. At the other end of the temperature scale, Des has had the opportunity to dive in 3 degree waters of the quarries and Great Lakes of the US Mid-West.

A PADI Master Instructor, EFR Instructor Trainer, DAN Oxygen Instructor and TDI Technical Instructor, Des has a passion for introducing others to the underwater world. To this end, Des is a past Field Editor for Scuba Diver Australasia magazine, and is the founder, producer and co-host of Australia's first diving podcast, The Surface Interval Show (www.thesurfaceinterval.net). Des also maintains a website and blog about diving (with particular emphasis on the Illawarra and Sydney) at www.BlueBeyond.com.au.
