Lance Robb
Lance Robb started diving in the early 1970's and has remained an avid diver throughout the years. Like many others, Lance's passion started as a snorkeler and his first SCUBA dive was on a homemade set made of WWII bomber oxygen tanks back when SCUBA systems were not readily available and very expensive.
Since then Lance has worked his way up through the many levels of diver to Technical Dive Instructor & Closed Circuit Rebreather Instructor and operates his dive business, Closed Circuit Divers in Cairns. Lance completed his Megalodon Closed Circuit Rebreather Instructor training with Leon Scamahorn, CEO of Innerspace Systems Corp and the man responsible for designing the Megalodon CCR. He also traveled to the US and successfully completed a number of Technician Courses and is now the Factory Appointed Service Technician for Australasia.
Lance's passion is diving deep shipwrecks and he has dived many interesting locations around the world including, The Great Barrier Reef, The Coral Sea, Truk Lagoon, The Gulf of Thailand, The South China Sea and Puget Sound. His impressive list of wrecks dived include the Battle Cruiser HMS Repulse, Battleship HMS Prince of Wales, "Hell Ship" Tottori Maru, US submarine USS Lagarto, IJN Hatsutaka (the ship responsible for sinking the USS Lagarto) and many more.
Today Lance teaches Technical Diving and Rebreather Diving in Cairns, organizes dive trips to exotic locations like Truk Lagoon, Philippines, Coral Sea and The Gulf of Thailand. He is a keen photographer and videographer and has assisted in producing underwater documentaries, movies and magazine articles. Lance graduated from the Royal Australian Navy Technical College "HMAS Nirimba in 1979 as a Marine Engineer, this gave him a solid foundation in understanding technical systems like those used in many Closed Circuit Rebreathers.
