Richard Evans
Originally hailing from California and now living in Australia, Richard Evans served in the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict, followed by 12 years as a police officer in Los Angeles. He holds a degree in the Administration of Justice and has been employed by PADI for the past fifteen years.
As a PADI Course Director and Instructor Examiner, he helped establish their Middle East Office, spending 6 years in Riyadh and 3 years in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, followed by four years with PADI UK, before joining the PADI Asia Pacific office.
With responsibilities that include, reviewing diving accidents and tracking incident reports, developing risk management programmes, reviewing various regulatory matters, including Codes of Practice, advising government committees and standard setting bodies, he conducts regular risk management seminars and workshops for the recreational diving industry.
Instrumental in the production of the recently released and highly praised DVD, "Duty Of Care", Richard will conduct a non-partisan seminar/workshop on Risk Management, its importance, and ways that it can be applied to all aspects of diving.
